Kurnool: The Karthika Mahotsavam festivities commenced on a grand scale at Srisailam on Saturday, with the Srisailam Mallikarjuna Swamy and Bhramaramba Ammavari temples beautifully decorated by the temple authorities. The temples opened at 3 a.m., allowing devotees darshan from 4.30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and again from 5.30 p.m. until 11 p.m.

During peak days, special rituals such as the Rudra Homam and Mrityunjaya Homam are conducted in phases. To manage the large influx of devotees during Karthika Masam, the Sparsha Darshanam at Sri Swamy’s sanctum sanctorum has been paused for 16 days, allowing devotees to receive alankara darshan instead.

Additional arrangements include the Karthika Deeparadhana at North Mada Street and Gangadhara Mandapam, along with a Punya Nadee Harati at Pathalaganga on November 15 to celebrate Karthika Pournami. Special pujas and a Sare offering will be held for the Krishnaveni statue, and Jwalathoranam will take place in the evening, marking the day with sacred traditions and worship. Fresh water and breakfast are provided in the queue complex.
