Kurnool: Kurnool collector P. Ranjit Basha has instructed officials to initiate works under the New Development Bank project within 10 days to repair potholes across the district.

He explained that the CC road construction under NREGS is ongoing, alongside pothole filling on R&B roads at a cost of ₹13 crore.
The government has also sanctioned ₹11.16 crore, aiming to make roads pothole free by Sankranti festival.
Incidentally, only 40 per cent of road infrastructure work has been completed in Kurnool division, while Adoni leads 72 per cent of the work completed. The long-pending road between Nandyal check-post and Gargeyapuram has remained delayed for years.
However, officials, after discussions with National Highways Authority of India, have decided to expedite the project.
There has also been prolonged uncertainty over whether to construct a 100-foot or 120-foot road between the national highway and Kurnool Corporation limits.
R&B minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy, who visited the city recently, observed the road conditions. He directed officials to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Nandyal check-post to Gargeyapuram road.
He assured that he would secure funds for the project on a priority basis.
Authorities say the conversion of Kurnool-Bellary road into a national highway is underway.
Additionally, steps are being taken to upgrade the Chinnatekur bypass Road from a panchayat Road to an R&B road to ensure better connectivity in the region.
