Lineman Arrested for Accepting Bribe in Vijayawada

ACB officials apprehended an in-charge lineman for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 on Friday.

Vijayawada: ACB officials apprehended an in-charge lineman for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 on Friday. Vaka Kiran Kumar from Anumalaveedu village in Racharla Mandal of Prakasam district, had approached Racharla section in-charge lineman Varadarajula Chinna Ramalingaiah to request the installation of electric poles up to the borewell in his agricultural field. The lineman, however, demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 for the service. Following a complaint from Vaka Kiran Kumar, ACB authorities caught the lineman red-handed while he was accepting the bribe. He is scheduled to be presented before the ACB special court.
