Visakhapatnam: Human resources minister Nara Lokesh on Friday visited unannounced the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayam (KGBV) in Bheemili and Chandrapalem ZP High School in Visakhapatnam. While inspecting the two schools, he engaged with students and teachers, ascertaining from them the quality of education and available facilities at the schools.

Upon arrival at the KGBV, Lokesh proceeded straight to the 10th class, where he directly interacted with students, inquiring about their curriculum and language in which they preferred to take exams. Students conveyed that while they found communication in Telugu easier, they wrote their exams in English.

The minister evaluated the effectiveness of the electronic blackboard. He assessed the teaching materials available and encouraged students to set high academic goals and achieve them. He congratulated two students who secured seats in IITs.

During his visit, Lokesh attended an exhibition "Local for Vocal." There, students showcased their global initiatives to promote indigenous products. Principal Kumari Ganga briefed the minister about their pedagogical approaches and facilities available at the KGBV.

In his meeting with education committee members, the minister asked them to actively enhance educational standards and facilities at the school.

After completing his inspection of the schools, Lokesh met prominent leaders of north Andhra, including MLAs, MPs, GVMC corporators and TD legal cell leaders at the Visakhapatnam district party office.

He advised MLAs not to act irresponsibly in the wake of the TD-led alliance government’s massive victory. He asked MPs and MLAs to work hard to earn the people's trust.

The minister interacted with GVMC corporators and expressed his special fondness for Visakhapatnam. Corporators indicated that Lokesh has many plans for the port city. When the corporators asked him to become the minister in-charge of Vizag, Lokesh did not comment on the matter, but said at the time he has many responsibilities.
