Lokesh stresses AP's goal to create 2 million jobs for youths in five years
VIJAYAWADA: Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh has stressed the government's goal to create two million jobs for youths in the next five years.
With this end in view, the Society for Employment Generation and Enterprise Development (SEEDAP) has signed agreements with three prominent entities.
The signing was done in the presence of Minister Lokesh at Undavalli on Thursday. SEEDAP chairman Deepak Reddy led the initiative with 2COMS Group, the Food Processing Society and Centurion Enterprises.
The minister said the agreements aimed at fostering enterprise development, self-employment and increased income for economically disadvantaged families. He stressed the government's goal to create 2 million jobs for youths in the next five years.
He highlighted SEEDAP’s large-scale skill development programmes in rural areas and its efforts to facilitate overseas employment. SEEDAP has partnered with 2COMS Group to offer employment abroad in sectors like healthcare. Plans are to employ 2,000 persons over the next two years.
The agreement includes skill development training and visa support for various fields, including nursing and mechatronics, with opportunities in Germany and Qatar.
Additionally, SEEDAP has signed an agreement with Centurion to promote food processing industries in the state. The aim is to establish 30,000 such units by 2029. This initiative will also offer training to 679 District Resource Persons (DRPs) and provide skill training for youths in rural areas, targeting industries such as garments, smart agriculture and drone technology.
The goal is to provide employment to 30,000 youths in the next two years.
