Visakhapatnam: Minister Lokesh has underscored the state government's commitment to law and order by strictly implementing the Red Book rules.

During a two-day visit to North Andhra, Lokesh held a Praja Darbar here, addressed public concerns and promised people that speedy efforts would be made to solve their problems.

He stressed the importance of placing the right individuals in appropriate positions so as to ensure effective governance. He said all religions deserve equal respect.

The HRD minister alleged that there was a significant decline in government school enrolments in recent years. The YSRC had claimed exactly the opposite.

According to him, the total strength of the students in these schools has reduced by nine lakh. "Our focus is to strengthen government schools. Government schools will implement the ‘one teacher per class’ formula from next year. Whenever I visit a district, I devote one day entirely to inspecting the schools. I would try to find out the facts.”

During a school inspection, Lokesh assumed the role of a teacher and gave an IQ test to the students. He inquired about various objects in English and received responses in Telugu. Minister expressed his delight at the students' correct answers and spirited demeanour.

The students expressed a desire for benches. The minister promised them that they would arrange these soon.

In response to the TTD Laddu issue, Lokesh stated, "We have asked the EO to clean up the TTD. YV Subbareddy must explain why the payment for the ghee-supplying company has been revised to `150 crore. A committee would investigate the irregularities in Tirumala."

The minister emphasised the government's commitment to implementing the Super Six promises.

He said the government would investigate irregularities in universities in the last five years and take appropriate action. Later in the day, Lokesh left for Vijayawada.
