Lokesh’s Praja Durbar receives resounding response

VIJYAWADA: Praja Darbar of education, IT and electronics minister Nara Lokesh has turned out to be a resounding success in his Mangalagiri constituency.

Public turned up in thousands to submit their grievances during the Praja Darbar on Tuesday at the minister’s residence in Undavalli. Lokesh personally received their petitions patiently, responding in a manner that increased their confidence that their problems will soon be solved.

The minister has set up a separate machinery that forwards the petitions to departments concerned, so that a solution is found at the earliest.

Telugu Desam leaders said though Lokesh is residing at the official residence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, there are no curbs on those meeting him.

They pointed out that generally, CM's official residence has stringent restrictions, like the camp office of former chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy had when he was holding office. But the residence where Lokesh is staying does not have any such security curbs. Common people have easy access to it.

During the Praja Darbar on Tuesday, 70-year-old Gundur Venkata Subbamma appealed to Lokesh that he come to her rescue by sanctioning her widow pension. B. Durga Prasad of Tadepalli requested the minister to allot him a house site and also solve the drinking water problem in his area.

Chillapalli Veeramma of Mangalagiri requested Lokesh to extend financial assistance for her grandson for his education, while T. Jayamani appealed for the revival of pension to her.

Andhra Pradesh Mee Seva representatives wanted the minister to do justice to workers who are dependent on Mee Seva system. Representatives of AP CPS Employees Association appealed to Lokesh to lift the 1,600 illegal cases filed against them across the state when they staged a protest in Vijayawada.

Representatives of APMCA Association requested the minister to regularise services of those working at Ayushmann Health Clinics in the state and pay their salary dues pending for past nine months, besides revision of their salaries.

V. Durga Malleswari requested Lokesh to provide employment to her son who has completed his B.Tech.

The minister gave a patient hearing to all of them, promising that he will take measures to resolve their problems within the earliest possible time.
