Low Pressure Might Bring Rains to AP for Next Five Days

 Visakhapatnam: Rainfall is forecast for the next five days in isolated areas of north-coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, south-coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely.

IMD Amaravati said a cyclonic circulation was noticed over Gangetic West Bengal and adjacent areas of Jharkhand and North Odisha, to an area extending up to 5.8km above mean sea level and tilting southwestward.

“This system is likely to develop into a low-pressure area within the next 24 hours. Additionally, a north-south trough is present from Rayalaseema to the Comorin area at an altitude of 0.9km above mean sea level,” IMD said in its daily bulletin.

Anantapur recorded the highest temperature at 32.8°C, while Narsapur was the coolest at 28.0°C. Temperature variations were noted across several locations, with Kavali seeing a significant drop of 4.5°C to 30.1°C, while Kakinada experienced a slight increase of 0.3°C.

Visakhapatnam recorded a decrease of 1.6°C with 31.6°C, and Nellore dropped by 4.7°C with 31.0°C. Tirupati experienced the largest decline of 5.1°C, with a temperature of 31.0°C recorded on Wednesday.

Rainfall varied across the state. Kakinada received the highest rainfall of 34.0mm, followed by Amaravati with 12.0mm and Gannavaram with 8.0mm. Several regions, including Visakhapatnam and Nellore, had no rainfall.
