Tirupati: A Maha Homam was conducted at the Autonagar’s Shivalayam in Tirupati on Wednesday in support of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan's Prayaschitta Deeksha. Jana Sena MLA Arani Srinivasulu and his wife took part in the homam.

Srinivasulu said the homam was performed for the success of the deeksha undertaken by the Deputy CM in response to allegations of adulterated ghee in Tirumala laddu.

The MLA accused former chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of procuring adulterated ghee under the guise of reverse tendering. He also alleged that previous TTD chairman Y.V. Subba Reddy and Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, and former TTD executive officer A.V. Dharma Reddy was involved in purchasing ghee that contained animal fat.

The MLA called Karunakar Reddy's oath-taking as a big drama and said he was praying to God to save him from his mistakes rather than swearing to his innocence. He added that Lord Venkateswara would certainly punish Karunakar Reddy for his mistakes. He promised that all those involved in the adulterated ghee scandal would face imprisonment.

The MLA further asserted that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and the Deputy CM revealed the adulterated ghee controversy with full evidence. He expressed confidence that the truth would emerge after the SIT investigation.
