He appreciated the doctors for providing better medical services at the Manyam District Hospital compared to urban areas. He went on to say that people have now started gaining confidence in government hospitals

During the meeting, doctors and medical officers informed the minister about the facilities available and problems being faced by them, such as shortage of staff, ambulances and feeder ambulances.

In particular, they informed Satya Kumar about the difficulties tribal people face in carrying back home those who die at the hospital. The minister said steps will be taken to address this issue immediately.

Manyam collector A. Shyam Prasad informed the minister that the district is served by one district hospital, three regional hospitals, three community health centres and 37 primary health centres.

The collector underlined that malaria cases are high in the area. He said they conduct special sanitation programmes to prevent mosquitoes from breeding. Shyam Prasad went on to mention that there is shortage of blood in the district. He said a special blood collection programme is going on.
