VIJAYAWADA: YSRC has slammed the Telugu Desam-led coalition government for neglecting the education sector, accusing it of prioritising propaganda over meaningful reforms. Former deputy speaker Kona Raghupathi criticised the recent "Mega Parents' Day" event, calling it a political spectacle with no tangible benefits for students.

Raghupathi alleged that impactful initiatives were introduced under the leadership of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, such as the Nadu-Nedu programme, English-medium education, and the CBSE curriculum, were dismantled by the current administration. Highlighting his constituency’s Rs 100 crore investment in schools during the YSRC regime, he criticised the coalition for failing to allocate funds for education development.

He further accused the government of ignoring critical issues like fee reimbursements, delays in the "Thalli Ki Vandanam" scheme, and the underdevelopment of Bapatla Medical College. Raghupathi claimed that the "Mega Parents' Day" excluded significant stakeholders to evade accountability for its shortcomings, undermining public education and student welfare.
