Minister challenges Jagan Reddy's claims on health sector
Vijayawada:Health Minister Satya Yadav has challenged former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to prove his claims that his government had undertaken massive recruitment of personnel for the health care sector and adopted a zero vacancy policy.
“I shall apologise publicly for raising this challenge now, if Jagan Reddy’s claims are proven to be based on facts,” the minister said.
Yadav was reacting to the claims the former CM made at a media meet on Thursday.
Referring to Jagan Reddy’s claims, he said the former CM was lying vis-a-vis his zero vacancy policy. For instance, he said, there existed a shortage of 2,000 faculty members in the 17 government medical colleges in the state. He found this out during a recent review meet.
The minister said though Jagan Reddy claimed that the shortage of super speciality doctors was no more than four per cent, it actually was 59 per cent.
