Vijayawada: Tiruvuru MLA Kolikapudi Srinivasa Rao, known for his unpredictable actions, has once again caught everyone's attention by cracking down on illegal belt shops selling liquor in Tiruvuru town on Tuesday.

Srinivasa Rao went on to force owners of four wine shops in the town to shut their businesses, alleging their involvement in illegally selling liquor through belt shops opened at cool drink outlets, stationery stores, and other places in Tiruvuru town and across the constituency.

The MLA said these four wine shops are located in residential colonies and near schools and places of worship. Saying they are causing severe inconvenience to public, he appealed to residents to inform him immediately in case these wine shops reopen.

Further, Srinivasa Rao issued a 48-hour deadline to excise department officials for cancelling the licenses of the four wine shops in Tiruvuru. He further directed excise officials to take action against the 130 belt shops operating illegally across his constituency, including 43 in Tiruvuru mandal.
