Modi’s Bonhomie With Mega Brothers Hogs Limelight
Vijayawada: If one picture, could be flashed across the media — traditional and social alike — from the swearing-in ceremony of the Nara Chandrababu Naidu Cabinet in Vijayawada on Wednesday, it would be the one where Prime Minister Narendra Modi holding up the hands of Pawan Kalyan and Chiranjeevi, who are famous in the Telugu film industry as the Mega brothers.
It all started with Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, who is set to be the Deputy Chief Minister, requesting Modi to allow him to get his elder brother Chiranjeevi onto the dais to introduce him.
Accepting his request, Modi said there is no need to bring Chiranjeevi to him as he will go and meet him. Immediately, Modi with Pawan Kalyan went to Chiranjeevi. While the Telugu film megastar greeted Modi, the Prime Minister held up the hands of both the mega brothers — Pawan Kalyan and Chiranjeevi — in the expression of solidarity, inviting huge applause from the mega family fans and the public.
Actor Ram Charan of RRR fame couldn’t control his happiness watching his father and uncle with Modi on the stage.
Faced with the sudden turn of events, Naidu hurriedly walked up to Modi and introduced him to Nandamuri Balakrishna — the only Telugu film actor who is considered to rival Chiranjeevi in popularity and considered to be at loggerheads with the megastar. Later, Modi also greeted Rajinikanth, another superstar from the South Indian film industry.
Modi also met former Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu, and former Supreme Court Chief Justice N.V. Ramana among others.
