Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is hopeful of getting Rs 10 lakh crore investments into the state with an initial investment of Rs 1.85 lakh crore coming in the green energy sector.

In a chit-chat with the media at the TD head office in Mangalagiri of Guntur district on Saturday, Naidu said his upcoming visit to Davos would help attract more investments into the state and he will try to make it a potential market to draw the attention of investors. He vowed to explore and avail the opportunities for investment, mainly in green energy and bio fuel sectors.

With regard to solar energy, the CM claimed credit for setting up solar power for every house in Kuppam, his home constituency, as a pilot project, and vowed to extend the same to all over the state.

The CM said it would cost Rs 1.15 lakh to generate two kw of solar power and the beneficiaries may be needed to bear the cost to install the solar power units, excluding the subsidy part being provided by the Centre.

He said they were working out plans to get 100 per cent subsidy for installation of solar power units if some quantum of such power was given to the state government.

Naidu also said he wanted to provide the Surya Ghar scheme to the SC and ST communities at 100 per cent subsidy. The CM said he was contemplating to extend the same scheme to others too with an initial investment from the government so that it could take power generated until some part of its expenditure spent in providing such a facility to others was recovered.

The CM expressed his intent to set up 5,000 electric vehicles’ charging stations in the state in the coming days.

He said they were using electric vehicles battery swapping system so that it would help every house to earn some revenue and added that they were using such a system in Kuppam as a pilot project.

The CM vowed efforts to use the village/ward secretariats in a more efficient manner and send the remaining employees to other departments. He assured to take up several welfare schemes based on the available data so that they would help improve living standards of the people.

Naidu said he wanted to use drones, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, CC cameras and Aadhaar to bring in change in government services for the benefit of the people. He sounded confident of real monitoring and analysis of the data of the people to better the governance in the state.

The CM said, “Our policy is to make wealthy, healthy and happy Andhra Pradesh and we will restore the Happy Sunday programme again and promote community friendship to ensure good relationships among the people. As we are getting addicted to browsing mobile phones and becoming slaves to them, we intend to come up with a P4 concept so that we all will be happy and even make our neighbours to be happy.”

At the start of his chit-chat with the media, the Chief Minister conveyed his greetings to the people of the state for the upcoming Sankranti festival.
