Naidu inaugurates Deepam Scheme in AP

Visakhapatnam:Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has inaugurated the Deepam 2.0 scheme at Idupuram in Ichapuram mandal of Srikakulam district, as part of the Super Six promises of the TD-led state government.

Arriving by helicopter at 12:45pm, the CM held a brief review meeting with senior leaders before travelling by road to Idupuram village, a kilometre away.

The programme commenced with Naidu waving the flag to the gas cylinder vehicles, symbolising the scheme's start. The first gas cylinder was distributed to Ambati Shanthamma's home, a Deepam scheme beneficiary. In a heart-warming gesture, the CM himself made tea at Shanthamma's house while conversing with the family.

During his visit, Naidu gathered feedback from the residents regarding the welfare and development schemes implemented by the state over the past 143 days.

He visited the home of Balijepalli Janaki, a single woman beneficiary, and personally handed over the NTR Bharosa Pension of `4,000. Janaki expressed her gratitude to the CM, highlighting the positive impact of the Single Woman Pension scheme on millions like her. Naidu assured her of continued support.

After this, Naidu addressed a public gathering, stating that anyone who commits irregularities in sand distribution would be arrested under the PD Act. He noted that there would be no inferior quality liquor or belt shops, promising punishment for anyone opening a belt shop.

Naidu stated, “We will work hard for the people who have given us unprecedented success. We are constructing a new diaphragm wall for Polavaram at `990 crore. For this project under Phase-1, the Centre has given ` 12,500 crore.”

He continued, “We are developing Visakhapatnam as a financial capital. We have promised to protect the Visakha Steel Plant. Two or three meetings have already been held, and the Centre has provided funds. The operation started in the second black furnace. We have cleared the line to the Visakha railway zone and are about to do Bhoomi puja.”

He added, “We will set up an airport at Tekkali or Palasa and an industrial corridor on 10 thousand acres in Mulapeta. We are working hard to bring large-scale industries. We will give houses, ration cards, and pensions to all who deserve it.”

Animal husbandryminiser Kinjarapu Atchannaidu stated, “The CM's visit to the beneficiaries' homes underscored the government's commitment to grassroots engagement and the effective implementation of welfare schemes.”

Union minister Rammohan Naidu urged the CM to address the Uddanam issue with a lasting solution. Minister Nadendla Manohar stated that efforts will be made to create local job opportunities for the youth in North Andhra.

At the Idupuram helipad, a grand welcome was accorded to Naidu. Apart from Rammohan Naidu, Achchennadu, district in-charge minister Kondapalli Srinivasa Rao, local MLAs Bendalam Ashok, Koona Ravikumar, Gauthu Sirisha, and N Easwara Rao, along with many alliance leaders, greeted the CM with flower bouquets.
