Vijayawada: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has announced ₹15 lakh financial assistance and a job to each family of the two teachers – Mahesh (29) and Aarti (26) – belonging to Eklavya School in Pachipenta mandal of Saluru constituency, who died while crossing a stream three days ago.

Tribal welfare minister Gummidi Sandhyarani said the CM sanctioned ₹10 lakh as central assistance and ₹5 lakh as state assistance. She said the state government is ready to provide additional support and employment opportunities to the bereaved families.

The Chief Minister expressed deep condolences over the recent deaths of three children at a private hostel in Kotavuratla mandal of Anakapalli district after consuming contaminated food. He announced financial assistance of ₹10 lakh to each of the affected families.

The minister said an investigation has been ordered and strict action will be taken against those responsible for the death of these children. Chandrababu Naidu has suggested that all students staying in private hostels be given an opportunity to instead study in nearby government hostels.

The Chief Minister has directed that officials immediately identify unrecognised schools and hostels across the state and take strict action against their owners.
