Naidu says flood-relief will be paid September 25

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday announced that the state government will pay relief to flood victims on Wednesday, September 25. The CM made the announcement after holding a review meeting with officials on the prevailing flood situation in the state following heavy floods. Officials informed him that the enumeration process of the flood-hit has been completed.

Chandrababu Naidu has already announced ₹25,000 each to those living on the first floor of flood-hit buildings and ₹10,000 each to those on the second floor and above. The Chief Minister said flood relief is being extended to all victims, including Vijayawada.

The CM said, “Financial assistance will be extended to those businessmen who suffered losses in these floods. The amount will be paid to all the victims on the same day. Monetary relief to those whose vehicles, crops and houses have got damaged will also be paid on Wednesday.

Chandrababu Naidu made it clear to officials that no flood victim should complain that his or her name has not been enrolled for payment of relief. When officials told the CM that of the 10,000 vehicles that got damaged in the floods, insurance amounts have been settled for about 6,000 vehicles, he directed officials to see to it that the insurance matter of the remaining vehicles is also settled at the earliest possible date.
