Naidu to hold first cabinet meeting on June 24

VIJAYAWADA: The first meeting of the new Andhra Pradesh Cabinet led by Nara Chandrababu Naidu would take place on June 24, Monday. The meeting is scheduled for 10am at the Secretariat.

Chief secretary Neerabh Prasad issued a circular to this effect on Wednesday. Special chief secretaries / principal secretaries / secretaries of all departments have been asked to send their proposals in the prescribed format to the General Administration Department by 4pm Friday.

It is learnt that the cabinet would discuss implementation of the Super Six poll promises that had won huge mass support for the 3-party alliance in the recent polls. Naidu, as a first step after he took charge, had signed files on the implementation of five of these promises.

His first signature was on the Mega DSC file, clearing the path for recruitment of a large number of teachers. The second signature was on the repeal of the Land Title Act, the third was on a promised increase in social security pension to `4,000 from `3,000, the fourth on the restart of Anna canteens and the fifth signature on the process of holding skill censuses.

These files will be presented at the cabinet meeting for necessary approvals. The meeting is also likely to discuss the Volunteer system, the Polavaram project, the restoration of Amaravati Capital works etc.
