Naidu to visit Polavaram project on Monday

Vijayawada:Chief Minister NChandrababu Naidu would visit the Polavaram irrigation project at Polavaram in Eluru district on Monday to inspect the progress of works.

Naidu would also hold a review meeting there with officials and representatives from the executing agencies on the schedule of works to be taken up.

The CM will be arriving at the Polavaram project site in the morning. He is expected to release the schedule of works for taking up earth-cum-rock-fill dam, which is the major component of the project pending execution.

Though the CM has already announced that the execution of the Polavaram project would be over by December, 2027, he may announce the schedule for taking up ECRF dam and other components like coffer dam and others, project chief engineer Narasimha Murthy said.

Meanwhile, the project authorities are taking up preparatory works for construction of diaphragm wall and ground improvement works.
