Naidu Warns of Action Against Errant for ‘Adulteration’ of Tirumala Prasadam Ghee
Vijayawada:Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has responded to the lab reports on suspected adulteration of the Tirumala laddu prasadam and said, “Action will be taken against the errant if there is evidence.”
“In the Tirumala prasadam, impure materials were used. When TTD conducted an inquiry into this, the facts came to light,” Naidu said while speaking at an event to mark the completion of 100 days of the TD-led state government in Velagapudi on Thursday.
He said, "Venkateswara Swamy is the deity of Kaliyuga for Hindus. No one could have imagined this happening. It is believed that if someone commits a sacrilege against the deity, they will be punished in this very life, not in the next.”
The chief minister inaugurated the Anna canteen set up outside the Secretariat. He issued tokens to the poor and served them food.
Naidu told the media, “203 Anna canteens had been set up across the state in my last term. The YSRC government maliciously closed them. After coming to power this time, we relaunched Anna Canteens. Arrangements were made to provide food to the poor. We will reopen 203 canteens that were closed by the previous government. We started 100 canteens on August 15. On the occasion of the completion of 100 days of our rule this term, we started 75 more canteens today. 450 people are having lunch in each of these canteens.”
On the TTD laddu adulteration allegation he made a day ago, Naidu said lab reports proved this. “No one expected such things to happen in such a sacred place.
“Adulterated material was being used in preparing Tirumala prasadam. The facts came to light when TTD conducted an investigation. I don't know what to do with such evil people. They behaved beyond the limits and would do anything. NTR introduced Annadanam in Tirumala but, see, there were many complaints on the poor quality food distribution during the previous government’s term.”
“Hindus want to visit Lord Venkateswara at least once in their life and seek His blessings. The previous government acted in such a way as to damage the sanctity of the holy place,” Naidu stressed.
The chief minister said, “We have started a cleansing from Tirumala and many irregularities are coming to light. If evidence is found, action will be taken against those responsible. Those who did wrong will be punished for sure. Many devotees felt hurt.”
