Kurnool: Villages of Nandyal district have been gripped by a disturbing wave of political vandalism, with members of both Telugu Desam and YSR Congress engaging in a cycle of retaliatory attacks, damaging structures and foundation plaques.

Despite police warnings of stern action, these destructive acts have continued unabated, raising concerns within the local populace.

In Rayamalpuram village, stone plaques placed during inauguration of development works carried out by YSRCP government have been vandalised, particularly those bearing the name of former Nandyal MLA Shilpa Ravichandra Kishore Reddy. YSRCP leaders have accused TDP of being behind the act.

However, a stone plaque belonging to TD has also been destroyed in the same Rayamalpuram village, allegedly by YSRCP members.

Tension escalated when TD leaders under Kasanna filed a complaint at the local police station regarding the destruction of their party's plaque.

Similar acts have been reported in many other villages of Nandyal district.

Police are taking measures to protect law and order in sensitive places.
