Nandyal police book 92 drunk driving cases

Kurnool: Over the past five days, Nandyal police have registered 92 cases of drunk driving, seizing 64 vehicles across the district. Additionally, 2,332 cases were filed for violations of the Motor Vehicle Act, resulting in fines totalling Rs 10,77,093.
As part of their enforcement efforts, police recorded 417 cases of open drinking and 240 instances of smoking in public places, imposing fines amounting to Rs 21,280. Six cases were also filed against individuals playing cards, leading to 48 arrests and the seizure of Rs 1,21,680.
In operations against illicit liquor, 33 cases were registered, resulting in the seizure of 481 bottles (180 ml each, totalling approximately 25.2 litres) and 165 litres of liquor. Police arrested 37 persons in connection with these raids.

Kurnool: Law, Justice, and Minorities Welfare Minister N. Md. Farooq has announced his support for Bigg Boss contestant Kirak Sita, urging the public to rally behind her. On Thursday, he released a promotional poster alongside Sita’s fans in Nandyal, emphasising the importance of voting for her. Farooq praised Sita's participation, highlighting her Rayalaseema roots and her residence in Nandyal. He stated that a victory for Sita would not only bring honour to Nandyal but to the entire Rayalaseema region.
