Vijayawada: Reacting to YSRC party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s announcement of the upcoming phase of governance, dubbed Jagananna 2.0, TDP General Secretary and Minister Nara Lokesh stated that the people of Andhra Pradesh have yet to recover from Jagan’s 1.0, let alone prepare for another phase.

“Jagan is talking about his 2.0, but people are still suffering from his 1.0. He is known for restricting people’s freedom. They may claim they will do something if they return to power, but there’s no need to worry—because they won’t,” Lokesh remarked.

Addressing Jagan’s criticism of the state’s expenses during the Davos trip, Lokesh said, “Jagan questions our spending, but I am ready to compare the investments he brought in over five years with what we have achieved in just eight months.”

Lokesh also accused Jagan of ruining the state’s education system, highlighting a significant drop in government school enrollment from 45 lakh to 32 lakh students.

“Just introducing English medium won’t change the reality. While the CBSE syllabus was announced, the exam system was ignored, leaving students unprepared. As a result, 90% of them are failing in at least one subject. That’s why we have decided to implement reforms and properly train students before transitioning them to this system,” he explained.

Lokesh further criticized the previous administration for politicizing universities, alleging that only individuals from the same community were appointed as Vice-Chancellors (VCs), leading to a sharp decline in NRF rankings.

“We have now finalized the list of new VCs and sent it to the Governor and Chief Minister. The appointments will be confirmed within a week,” he assured.
