Narayana Holds Meet with MLAs, Officials on Urban Development
Visakhapatnam:Urban development minister P. Narayana has advised officials of VMRDA and GVMC to focus on people-oriented development.
The minister held a review meeting on these two departments in the presence of MLAs, commissioner, officials and party leaders.
The issues of building permits, road- widening works, protection of GVMC properties, hawker zones, encroachment, parking, advertisement fees, layout permissions, master plan roads, unauthorized constructions, GVMC city roads and other issues came up for discussion.
Among the projects being undertaken under PPP mode in GVMC spanned solar power, flyovers, bridges, bus shelters, fuel stations, land monetization, an amusement park in Mudasarlova, automation of water supply, skywalks in 9 areas, stadium, sports complexes and electric vehicle charging stations.
He asked the officials to remove the billboards in the centre median and turn the area green. Questioning the delay in sanctioning building plans, the minister told the GVMC commissioner Sampath Kumar that he would conduct a review on this through video conference.
Among those present were MP Sribharat, MLAs Velagapudi Ramakrishnababu, Vamsi Srinivas, Ramesh Babu, PVGR Naidu, Satyanarayana Murthy, MLCs Rama Rao, Chiranjeevi Rao and TDP state president Palla Srinivasa Rao.
