Navy, NAMAHA join forces for Vizag marathon

Visakhapatnam: NAMAHA Academy, in collaboration with the Indian Navy, hosted a marathon on Sunday, aimed at promoting fitness and self-defence within the community. The event took place along Vizag Beach Road, featuring routes of 3 km and 5 km leading up to VUDA Park.
The marathon attracted over 800 participants, including members of the Indian Navy and a diverse group from various sectors, such as business, education, and non-profit organizations. The event's chief guest, Member of Legislative Assembly Gana Babu (P.GV.R.Naidu), presented medals to the top finishers in both distance categories.
Captain TRS Kumar emphasized the importance of fitness in daily life during his address, while NAMAHA Academy leaders Swathi and Nagesh highlighted the significance of martial arts and self-defence for women and children. Participants were rewarded with goodie bags filled with discount vouchers, books, sports T-shirts from Decathlon, and medals.
