Tirupati: Bobbala Srinivasa Yadav, the corporator of the 37th division in Nellore city, has been accused of orchestrating a job scam. Two young men have lodged complaints at the 4th Town Police Station, alleging that Yadav collected Rs 9.3 lakh from them, promising jobs as linemen in the electricity department.

One of the complainants, Vaddepalli Jaggarao, informed the media on Sunday that Yadav demanded Rs 6 lakh per person for the jobs. “After taking the money, Yadav became unresponsive to inquiries about the promised employment. When we pursued the matter, we faced threats,” he alleged.

The Fourth Town Police have registered complaints and are investigating the case. Local activists and political parties are demanding a swift and impartial inquiry, emphasising the need for accountability if the allegations are substantiated. They have expressed concerns over potential abuse of power by elected officials and the exploitation of job seekers.
