Nine State Highways to Be Upgraded to National Highways: Janardhan Reddy

Kurnool: Minister for roads, buildings, and investments, B.C. Janardhan Reddy, announced plans to upgrade nine state highways to national highways. After hoisting the national flag in Nandyal on Thursday, the Minister revealed that proposals have been submitted for ten road projects under the Central Road Fund, amounting to approximately Rs. 255 crores.
The Minister also highlighted that the government has sanctioned Rs. 35 crores for constructing a 15 km outer ring road in Banaganapalle town and Rs. 19 crores for a 2.5 km four-lane road from Bommala Satram Bridge to Nunepalle Bridge.
Regarding irrigation, Janardhan Reddy outlined plans to provide water to 5.40 lakh acres through various projects. This includes 1.69 lakh acres via the KC Canal, 1.53 lakh acres through the SRBC Canal, 1.24 lakh acres under the Telugu Ganga scheme, 58,075 acres through 38 lift schemes, 21,300 acres through Siddapuram Lift Irrigation, and 2,000 acres via the HNSS Canal.
He encouraged the use of solar rooftop plants to reduce electricity consumption under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana scheme and assured that the state cabinet has committed to resolving issues arising from the re-survey within three months, following grama sabhas.
During the event, family members of freedom fighters were honoured with shawls, garlands, and gifts. The Minister also observed performances from various departments. District Collector G. Raja Kumari, SP Adhiraj Singh Rana, legislators, senior officials, and other dignitaries were present at the ceremony.
