Parents-Teachers meeting to foster students' academic success: Kollu

Vijayawada: Minister Kollu Ravindra highlighted the state government’s efforts to ensure a promising academic future for students through a Mega Parents-Teachers Meeting. Speaking at the Municipal Girls Park High School in Machilipatnam on Saturday, Ravindra stressed the importance of connecting parents and teachers for students' holistic development.
He noted that over 18 lakh students are enrolled in government schools, and the government aims to develop these institutions on par with corporate schools, providing quality education to help students excel in competitive exams. Ravindra credited the late NT Rama Rao for introducing the mid-day meal scheme and emphasised its role in reducing dropouts, announcing plans to extend it to intermediate colleges.
He also revealed plans to establish a Global Capability Centre for Innovations at Machilipatnam National College and announced the Yuva Keratalu programme scheduled for January 2 and 3, 2025. APSRTC chairman Konakalla Narayana Rao and DEO PVJ Rama Rao attended the event.
