Tirupati: The annual Paruveta Utsavam of Sri Venkateswara Swamy was celebrated with grandeur at Tirumala’s Paruveta Mandapam on Wednesday. Lord Malayappa Swamy and Lord Krishna Swamy, seated on traditional palanquins, were taken in a ceremonial procession to the Mandapam in the Seshachalam forests.

Sri Malayappa Swamy, adorned with a headguard and divine weapons, was seated alongside Sri Krishna Swamy on a special platform for purification rituals, offerings, and Harathis performed by priests. Devotional hymns and Nadaswaram performances enriched the spiritual ambience. Sri Krishna Swamy visited the Sannidhi Golla community, receiving butter as Naivedyam. The highlight was a mock hunting ritual symbolising the triumph over evil.

In Tirupati, the Kanuma festival began with Gau puja Mahotsavam at Sri Venkateswara Gau Samrakshana Shala, featuring Veena recitals, Vedic chants, bhajans, kolatam dances, and Annamacharya compositions. Rituals at the Sri Venugopala Swamy temple included Gau puja, Harathi, Tulasi puja, and Gobbemma celebrations.

At Tirumala, the "Kakabali" ritual was observed at the Ananda Nilayam Vimanam to invoke divine blessings. Garlands from Goddess Goda Devi, crafted at Govindaraja Swamy temple, were ceremoniously offered to Lord Venkateswara. The Suprabhata Seva resumed at Tirumala temple following the conclusion of Dhanurmasam.
