Visakhapatnam: Pedabayalu MPTC Mandal Forum president K. Bonju Babu has complained to Anakapalli district collector Vijaya krishnan against mandal education officer (MEO) Gumma Pushpa Joseph of being high-handed.

The development comes in the wake of heated exchanges between MPTC (Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency) members, sarpanches and the MEO during the 14th Mandal General Body Meeting held in Pedabayalu mandal of Anakapalle district. They accused Pushpa Joseph of not responding to their complaints.

The MEO responded saying she could take action only in case the MPTCs or sarpanches made a formal complaint in writing.

MPTC members and sarpanches say the MEO not responding to their queries amounts to violation of their rights as elected public representatives.

Following these developments, mandal forum president Bonju Babu called on the district collector Vijayakrishnan seeking an inquiry. He has demanded a public apology from Pushpa Joseph.
