PM to lay foundation for key projects in Anakapalle on Jan 8

The ceremony to kick off the NTPC Green Hydrogen Project would take place on January 8, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate both the Green Hydrogen Project and the South Coast Railway Zone project. The event had originally been set for Nov 29 this year.
Anakapalle MP, CM Ramesh, announced the P’s participation at a press conference in Anakapalle on Monday. Ramesh said Modi will address a public meeting and launch several important development projects.
Ramesh hinted at plans to establish three Kendriya Vidyalayas in the region. These would be in Anakapalle, Narsipatnam and the Chodavaram-Madugula areas, enhancing the local educational infrastructure.
He outlined initiatives to transform the district’s 90-km coastline into a prominent tourism hub. He said projects aimed at upgrading the Muthyalamma Palem Beach and the Alluri Sitarama Raju Memorial Park are currently being planned, with coordination among relevant officials.
On the infrastructure front, he said tenders for constructing a six-lane road from Anakapalle to Rajamahendravaram will be initiated soon. Additionally, efforts are under way to improve the road connectivity between Anakapalle and Visakhapatnam.

Ramesh spoke of the strategic focus on Anakapalle and noted the district has attracted investments totalling `2.5 lakh crore over the past six months. This includes a substantial `1.5 lakh crore commitment from ArcelorMittal for a steel plant covering an area of 2,200 acres, with a fund of `70,000 crore earmarked for the initial phase.
Plans are also being formulated to establish a third pharmaceutical Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Nakkapalli, akin to the existing SEZs in Atchutapuram and Parawada.
Additionally, efforts are being made to initiate a new aluminium plant, with district officials currently engaged in land acquisition for the project that is anticipated to generate further investments of approximately `70,000 crore in the district.
