Police should have Provided Security for Allu Arjun: Purandeswari
Kakinada: BJP state president and Rajamahendravaram MP D. Purandeswari criticised Hyderabad police for failing to provide security for actor Allu Arjun during his theatre visit, citing his celebrity status. She confirmed a probe into the security lapse and suggested discussions between the Telangana film industry and the state government to resolve ongoing issues.
Speaking to reporters, Purandeswari accused the Congress of twice defeating Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in elections and forcing his resignation from the Cabinet. She contrasted this with BJP-led NDA initiatives, including declaring Ambedkar’s residences as "Pancha Teerthas," granting constitutional status to the BC Commission, and providing 33% reservations for women.
Highlighting local development, she mentioned efforts to modernise Rajamahendravaram Railway Station and address Yerra Kalva flooding. Purandeswari also announced BJP’s growth to 25 lakh members, with more joining to honour late PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
