Purandeswari warns of action for social media abuse of women

Vijayawada: BJP state president and Rajamahendravaram MP Daggubati Purandeswari haswarned of stern action and by booking of cases under cyber crime against those who post and circulate derogatory remarks, especially against women, on social media platforms.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Purandeswari warned that if anyone found making negative remarks against the women public representatives intentionally on social media platforms, they would effectively deal with the perpetrators of such activity and take them to task.

Referring to the posts on social media platforms targeting the women public representatives, Purandeswari said such women feel demoralised and vowed efforts to conduct seminars to boost up their morale.

Purandeswari has also expressed her delight at getting an opportunity to represent India in the 67th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference held in Australia recently. She said that a lot of issues pertaining to women were discussed at the Commonwealth Conference, including harassment they are facing at work and homes.

She said AP Assembly Speaker Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu also attended the Commonwealth Conference.
