Vijayawada:Minister for water resources Nimmala Ramanaidu firmly refuted allegations from former minister and YSRC senior leader Ambati Rambabu concerning the Polavaram Project dam height. Ramanaidu reaffirmed that the Telugu Desam-led NDA government is committed to completing the project at a height of 45.72 metres.

In a Twitter post on Saturday, Ramanaidu criticised Rambabu’s claim that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu secretly agreed with the central government to lower the dam height from 42.75 metres to 41.15 metres. Ramanaidu challenged Rambabu to present any evidence of this alleged reduction, calling his statements misinformation aimed to appease YSRC leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Ramanaidu dismissed allegations of fund misuse, stating that the Rs. 2,348 crore released by the central government on October 9 for the Polavaram Project remains fully allocated. He assured that the “double-engine government” at both state and central levels prioritises the project’s completion, along with the development of Amaravati.
