Rammohan Naidu Highlights Industrial Growth Priorities in Srikakulam

 Visakhapatnam: Union civil aviation minister K. Rammohan Naidu emphasised the alliance government's commitment to prioritising industrial growth iSrikakulam district. Speaking at a media conference, he reported that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s recent visit to Srikakulam was successful, highlighting the government’s focus on irrigation and industrial development in the region.

Rammohan Naidu noted that several water projects initiated in 2019 remain unfinished under the YSRC regime. He stated that the Vamsadhara Phase 2 project is expected to be completed by next June, and efforts will soon commence to finish the partially completed Nagavali-Vamsadhara linking project. Additionally, he confirmed that the offshore project will be completed shortly.

The Union minister announced that the Chief Minister has approved plans to provide drinking water to Palasa and construct mini-irrigation systems. He also disclosed plans to establish an industrial hub on a large tract of land near Mulapeta Port in the Tekkali constituency, which will include beach sand and titanium industries, potentially creating 20,000 job opportunities within the industrial corridor.

Rammohan Naidu mentioned that the government is seeking land for an airport in Srikakulam and has requested the central government to develop a six-lane highway along the Narasannapeta-Ichapuram route. Additionally, a six-lane coastal corridor will be constructed from Mulapeta Port to Bhogapuram Airport.

The minister further outlined plans to develop Arasavalli by establishing a world-class temple and setting up a weightlifting institute in Srikakulam district. He noted that this was Chandrababu Naidu’s first visit to the district since taking office as Chief Minister and deemed it a success. He recalled that past visits by the Chief Minister were marked by excessive restrictions, which caused public inconvenience; however, he noted that no trees were felled during this visit.
