Visakhapatnam: A reactor explosion occurred at Metrochem Pharma Company's facility at Parawada in Anakapalli district, around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, prompting immediate evacuation of workers. The incident elicited a swift response from local emergency services. While initial reports from CPM leaders indicate four casualties, police officials and company management have not confirmed any injuries or fatalities.According to Parawada DSP K.V. Satyanarayana, the explosion resulted from a pipe leakage in the reactor system. Local fire crews responded promptly to the scene and successfully contained the resulting fire. Fortunately, all workers present during the incident managed to evacuate safely following the explosion. The Parawada police have initiated an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the pipe leakage and subsequent explosion.

The CPM workers' association has called for transparency from the company owners, demanding the disclosure of B shift workers' names and compensation for those injured in the incident.
