Roads without potholes will be constructed in AP: HM Anitha
Visakhapatnam: State home and disaster management minister Vangalapudi Anitha has reaffirmed the NDA coalition government’s commitment to ensure pothole-free roads across Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking at a public hearing held on the mandal revenue office premises in Nakkapalle, Anitha assured the public that the government would address their concerns and take necessary steps to improve roads condition.
During the event, Anitha received requests from the public and discussed various issues with district, division and mandal-level officials. She initiated steps for remediation, emphasising the importance of addressing these problems promptly. In Charlapudi village, Anita set the foundation stone for reconstructing the road that will connect Narsipatnam. Anitha highlighted the deteriorating condition of roads during the five years of the YSRC government and criticised the previous administration for its inaction.
State highways development corporation chairman Pragada Nageswara Rao and Anakapalli district collector Vijaya Krishnan were also present at the meeting.
Anitha announced sanctioning Rs 24.30 crore budget to lay 13 kilometres of road from Ramachandrapuram to Narsipatnam. She emphasised that road construction would be undertaken as part of an election commitment, aiming to improve the infrastructure and ease travellers’ difficulties.
The minister stressed that the coalition government, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan, is actively working to enhance roads condition in the state.
Anakapalli district collector, officials from the R&B department and local leaders, including the sarpanch and ZPTC TTD mandal president, participated in the event.
