RTC bus trapped in stream in Prakasam

Kurnool: An RTC bus became trapped in an overflowing stream at Podili in Prakasam district on Wednesday. Local residents, aided by a JCB, successfully recovered the bus, while the stranded passengers safely exited by wading through the water.

Heavy rainfall at Battuvaripalli on Tuesday caused the stream to overflow, cutting off the road connecting Markapuram and Podili. On Wednesday morning, an RTC service bound for Kanigiri from Markapuram was caught in the flow and stopped midway due to engine issues. Fearing further overflow and potential danger, the passengers quickly vacated the bus and made their way to the shore on foot. Local residents arrived and used a JCB to pull the stranded bus from the stream.
