Visakhapatnam: Godavari and Sabari rivers are swelling due to incessant rains caused by the low pressure formed in the Bay of Bengal on Thursday. Reports said Sabari was stable at Kunta but slowly increasing at Chintur. Godavari reached 38.78 meters at Kunavaram under the Chintur division of the ASR district.

Authorities blocked the highway from Chintur to Odisha and Chattisgarh as a precautionary measure. Rampachodavaram MLA Miriyala Sirisha Devi announced that she would visit the villages and hamlets under Kunavaram mandal on Friday along with the party workers.
