Kurnool:Several senior leaders of the ruling Telugu Desam from the undivided Kurnool district are upset as they were “bypassed” in the two recent lists released by the party for filling the nominated posts.

District TD president Tikka Reddy, former MLAs Kotla Sujathamma, KE Prabhakar, Meenakshi Naidu, Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy, Y Pratap Reddy, Y Vishnu Vardhan Reddy and others were not included in the lists finalised by the party leadership.

Many of these leaders had played vital roles in the 2024 elections that returned the party to power in the state. They say their long-stand commitment to the party was not taken into consideration.

The TDP-JSP-BJP alliance government recently announced appointments to various caste-based corporations as also chairmanships and directorships.

Notable omissions also include former ministers like KE Prabhakar and Yerasu Pratap Reddy, former Salivahana Corporation chairman Tuggali Nagendra, party leader Gudise Krishnamma and ex-district unit secretary Nageswara Rao Yadav.

These leaders are piqued over the failure of the leadership to recognize and reward seniority in the party.

“A balanced approach of including both senior and new leaders is fine. Hard work for the party should be a deciding factor, but past contributions to the party should also be a yardstick,” a senior leader said.
