VIJAYAWADA: Several prominent leaders including former minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, a relative of YSR Congress chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, joined the Jana Sena here on Thursday.

The others switching sides abruptly were former MLAs Samineni Udayabhanu and Kilari Rosaiah. They joined the Jana Sena in the presence of its chief and deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan.

Additionally, the YSRC youth wing leader Avanapu Vikram and his wife, along with the chairperson of the unified Vizianagaram district district cooperative marketing society Avanapu Bhavana, changed their colours and joined the ruling bandwagon.

Businessman Kandi Ravishankar from Ongole and film producer Chittamuru Praveen Reddy from Nellore also found their way into the JS.

Shawls were draped around the shoulders of these entrants at the hands of Pawan Kalyan. PK called upon everyone to actively promote the “principles” of the Jana Sena within their communities.

Several party workers from districts such as Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and Vizianagaram were present. Many party workers honoured Pawan Kalyan with large garlands for riding the JS to power after a long period of its political drought.

MLC Pidugu Hariprasad, MLA Sarani Srinivasulu and TIDCO chairman Vemulapathi Ajay were present.
