Simhachalam Temple Sourcing Ghee from Visakha Dairy

Visakhapatnam: Following seizure of 945 kilograms of ghee from the Simhachalam Temple premises in Visakhapatnam, Sri Varahalakshmi Narasimha Swamy Vari Devasthanam has started procuring ghee from Visakha Dairy.

On Monday, the temple received 100 cartons of ghee from the dairy, each containing 15 kilograms of the commodity used for making laddus, in worship and other religious activities. Previously, the temple had been sourcing ghee from a private dairy farm for Rs.385 per kilogramme. It is now purchasing ghee from Visakha Dairy at a rate of Rs.605 per kilogramme.

Simhachalam Temple is a prominent pilgrimage site, drawing thousands of devotees daily. Laddu sales are particularly high during peak seasons, reaching up to 60,000 per day. Even during off-peak times, the temple experiences significant footfalls. The temple’s weekend laddu sales range from 20,000 to 30,000 laddus. Sales during weekdays are from 10,000 to 15,000.
