Visakhapatnam: Superintendent of Police (SP) K.V. Maheshwara Reddy has called for rapid resolution of property cases and stringent action against public misconduct during a comprehensive review meeting held with district police officers.
In a virtual conference with senior police officials on Wednesday, the SP emphasised the critical need for thorough investigations and timely disposal of cases. The meeting, held at the district police office, focused on multiple critical case categories, including Lok Adalat cases, cases involving Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) cases, and crimes against women.
The SP gave several key directives for police officials and urged them to prepare strategically for the upcoming Lok Adalat on December 14, ensuring maximum case settlements and reviewing ongoing investigations, inquiring about the arrest of criminals in various cases, and demanding quality investigation for unresolved cases.
Notably, the SP set specific timelines for case processing, instructing officials to complete charge sheets for SC/ST and POCSO cases within 60 days. He also directed increased enforcement against public nuisance cases, including alcohol consumption in public spaces, gambling, and driving under alcohol influence.
