Visakhapatnam: District Superintendent of Police (SP) KV Maheshwara Reddy has called for rapid resolution of property cases and stringent action against public misconduct during a comprehensive review of district police efforts.
In a virtual conference with senior police officials on Wednesday, the SP emphasized the critical need for thorough investigations and timely case disposals. The meeting, held at the district police office, focused on multiple critical case categories, including Lok Adalat cases, cases involving Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) cases, and crimes against women.
The SP stressed several key directives for police officials. He urged officers to prepare strategically for the upcoming Lok Adalat on December 14, ensuring maximum case settlements and reviewing ongoing investigations, inquiring about arrest progress in various case types, and demanding quality investigations for unsolved cases.
Notably, the SP set specific timelines for case processing, instructing officials to complete charge sheets for SC/ST and POCSO cases within 60 days. He also directed increased enforcement against public nuisances, including alcohol consumption in public spaces, gambling, and driving under the influence.
