ANANTAPUR: A security blanket was placed around Srisailam temple and surrounding areas as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu prepared to launch a seaplane from Vijayawada to Patalaganga, near the Krishna River, on Saturday. In view of the Nallamala forest—an area historically affected by extremism—523 police personnel, including 10 special teams and 4 Greyhound squads, were deployed to ensure the Chief Minister’s safety.

After the formal seaplane launch, CM Naidu is scheduled to reach the Patalaganga boating point and proceed to the Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy and Goddess Bramarambika temples for darshan. Given the temple's proximity to previous Naxal-affected areas in the Nallamala forest, the police department has increased forces and commenced combing operations in the area.

Nandyal SP Athirajsingh Rana inspected the site and reviewed the security arrangements, while Srisailam temple authorities have prepared facilities for the Chief Minister’s visit following the sea plane launch.
