Visakhapatanam:A multi-departmental team conducted a survey at Bheemli Beach on Saturday following directives from the Andhra Pradesh High Court, which expressed strong displeasure over the delay in implementing its orders.

The inspection team included representatives from the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) authority, the Revenue Divisional Office (RDO), the Pollution Control Board (PCB), and municipal officials.

The survey was conducted in response to a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by Janasena leader Peethala Murthy Yadav, who alleged that unauthorised constructions had been permitted along the beach in violation of CRZ regulations. He specifically claimed that structures built by Neha Reddy had not been fully demolished despite previous court orders.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Murthy Yadav said that during the hearing on Wednesday, the High Court expressed strong dissatisfaction over the three-month delay in implementing its orders and the failure to submit progress reports.

The court has now directed officials to submit a detailed report within a week on CRZ violations along the stretch from RK Beach to Bheemli Beach.

A special team has been formed for this purpose, comprising the Andhra Pradesh Coastal Zone Management Authority member secretary, the Visakhapatnam collector, and the GVMC commissioner.
