Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh Sadhu Parishad president Srinivasananda Saraswati wants the NDA alliance government to cancel allotment of over 15 acres of land in Kothavalasa to Visakha Sharada Peetham by the erstwhile Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy regime.
Srinivasananda inspected the hilly area where the land has been allocated to the peetham. Jana Sena corporator Peethala Murthy Yadav and representatives of various Hindu organisations accompanied the Sadhu Parishad president.
Speaking to media during the inspection, Srinivasananda accused the then YSRC government of misusing the land for commercial purposes under the guise of building infrastructure for Visakha Sharada Peetham. He alleged that the allocation has been driven by business interests, rather than public benefit.
Murthy Yadav echoed Sadhu Parishad president's concerns. He accused the Visakha Sarada Peetham of previously functioning as a YSRC camp office.
The Jana Sena corporator criticised the allocation of a valuable hill to the Peetham, initially earmarked for a Vedic school. He wanted an inquiry into the holdings of Visakha Sharada Peetham before 2019 and now, including those who have the ownership.
