ANANTAPUR: Tense situation prevailed at Tadipathri on Tuesday after TD cadres resisted the entry of former MLA K Pedda Reddy who wanted to collect valuable documents from his residence with police permission.

The TD cadres, after receiving information that the YSRC leader would visit Tadipathri town, tried to ransack the former MLA’s house as he has been residing at his native village Thimmampalli and in Anantapur after the general polls.

As the former MLA was on his way towards Tadipathri, police stopped him at Kondapuram for reasons of law and order. But he got permission for a few minutes to take his documents and to return to his native village.

The TD cadres gathered in large numbers near the former MLA’s residence and YSRC activist Rafi was attacked by the TD cadres. Rafi was immediately shifted to hospital following injuries. Meanwhile, Pedda Reddy returned soon after taking documents and the situation came to control.

The TD activists again attacked the residence of YSRC leader Kandigopula Muralidhar Reddy and damaged two cars and a scooter at his residence. Police led by DSP Janardhana Naidu rushed to the spot and brought the situation into control.

Additional forces have been posted at Tadipatri following the tense situation.
