TD Ensuring Good Governance in AP: Purandeswari
Vijayawada: AP BJP chief and MP D. Purandeswari stated that the TD-led NDA government is ensuring good governance in the state. The BJP MP participated in the state-level membership drive at the party office in Vijayawada on Friday.
Addressing party leaders and activists, she said that the Centre was extending all support to Andhra Pradesh for its development. The MP added that the Centre is providing funds for the development of the capital city Amaravati, the construction of the Polavaram irrigation project, the establishment of a railway zone, and to bring the Visakha Steel Plant on the path of progress, among other projects. She called upon party leaders and supporters to reach out to the people and create awareness about the Central government’s financial assistance to the state.
Claiming that they had completed a membership drive enrolling a total of 12 lakh people so far, she urged the cadre to expedite the process to bring more members into the party fold as they have just two weeks left. She criticised the previous YSRC regime for the sand mafia activities and urged party leaders to highlight such issues to the public. She also condemned the previous government for the adulteration of laddu at TTD and for not releasing funds to gram panchayats.
BJP national secretary Aravind Menon, UP MLA Siddarth Nath Singh, and senior party leaders including Krishna Das and Madhukarji were present at the meeting.
